Anyone who finds a ringed pigeon can search the ring number, or file a free report without an account. Owners search the same database to recover their birds. All reports are public and free. A racing pigeon ring is normally **country + year + serial**, for example `RO-2024-123456`: `RO` is the country, `2024` the hatch year, the rest a unique number. Some rings also carry a federation code such as `UCP`. It reports position through the Apple Find My network and is read in the free SmartTag app on Android and iPhone. It needs **no SIM card and no monthly subscription**. Battery lasts 30+ days (720-900 hours) on a charge, the capsule is IP67 rated, and built-in Bluetooth guides the owner to within a few metres at close range. It is a **live tracker, not a logger** — the position updates while the bird is out, rather than only after it returns home. Price: 149,96 RON (approx. 30 EUR), reduced from 200 RON.
